Thank you.
These words have been said so many times in a span of only
a few hours. But I don't think they have lost their meaning
yet, because all the scholars really do appreciate what the
Oberman Foundation and the Advocate for Casiguranon International
have done for us.
Personally, I am very thankful because I was given the
opportunity to study in a very good university and to study
under a program which I love. Whenever I compare myself too
who I was before I entered college, I feel overwhelmed because
I have changed a lot. The University of the Philippines and
the BA Communication Arts program have changed me a lot, and
have changed me
positively. Without the scholarship program,
I don't know if such changes would even be possible.
I am also thankful because I was given a better chance of
providing a better life for my family. I'm quite sure that
all the scholars here dream of doing the same thing for their
own families. AFCI and the Oberman Foundation are helping us
achieve that dream.
I am also thankful because of all the support they have given
me, not only financially but also emotionally. I know that AFCI
and the Oberman Foundation believe in me, they believe in all
the scholars. That in a way makes me feel a little pressured,
but it also makes me feel more inspired to study.
So fellow scholars, let us do our best in our studies. Let us
strive not for mediocrity but for excellence, because we owe
it to these people who are helping us.
Again, to AFCI and to the Oberman Foundation, thank you so much, for everything.
