James Oberman
Since 2008, The Oberman Foundation has been proudly supporting poor
but high-achieving youths from the Bicol region of the Philippines
by providing full scholarships to the University of the Philippines
and other of that nation's state colleges and universities.
James and Jane Oberman initiated this project with the long-range
goal of reducing the tragic cycle of abject poverty that consigns
hugely intelligent young people with vast potential to leading
impoverished lives for one reason -- they lack the relatively
modest resources necessary to attend college.
Approximately $700 (U.S.) per year funds one student's tuition,
books and living allowance to help end this cycle with a college
education, giving these students the opportunity to obtain meaningful
employment that will enable them to provide at least modestly
comfortable lives for themselves and their families.
Our hope is that countless lives, families and communities will
be thereby enriched.
And it's already happening in the barrios of Casiguran and Nabua!
For only $2 a day, you can join this effort and sponsor a deserving
student who will correspond with you to express her or his endless
gratitude! Won't you help?
